NECO releases 2018 SSCE results with impressive pass rates

What’s the story?

According to a Press statement signed by the acting Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Alhaji Abubakar M.Gana, a total number of 1,041,536 registered for the examination while 1,032,729 sat for the examination.” “Comparative analysis of candidates with 5 credits and above including English language and Mathematics for 2017 and 2018 shows 70.85 percent for 2017 and 71.48 percent for 2018, showing an increase of 0.63 percent in 2018”, the registrar said

Does it affect me?

It does if you or your ward sat for the 2018 NECO SSCE exam. The results showed that 71% of candidates had over 5 credits in subjects including Maths and English, while over 90% had over 5 credits in all subjects. He also revealed that incidence of exam malpractice was lower this year, while revealing that about nine thousand registered candidates did not sit for the exam this year.
